My favorite picture of the day sunrise at Avalanche Lake.
It was another early day out on the trail, which turned out to be great as we didn't run into many people until we were on our way back from Avalanche Lake.

These tree roots were amazing!

The trail to the far side of Avalanche Lake

Since we started so early my pictures don't look like the "typical" Avalanche Lake pictures with the blue green water because the sun wasn't high enough to reflect on the water. So I made mine black and white and honestly it looks better this way then my original.

Stream along the way

So excited to actually see an official "End of Trail" sign, since a lot of the times we had to cut it short because of Floppy.
As par for the course after hiking Avalanche Lake we headed back to Maddie bus for "brunch." In the afternoon we decided to head out to Lake McDonald to try our hand at kayaking. We hadn't made reservations and had never kayaked before so we took what they had left which was a double kayak. Turned out after the first few minutes we loved it, we are now contemplating buying an inflatable kayak and taking it with us!

Not a bad view!
